Hello Buddy..In one way or another,everyone,of every Nation, is a `victim` of history and it`s consequences,both the `winners` and the `losers`. The Global map is,to state the obvious,awash with the many borders and names of countries forged by past often bloody events.Many of these events have been lost in the fog of time,others are well documented in history books,some are still in progress today.

There are also many various tribes,groups or `populations`, which may or may not be listed on the map, but have had geographical areas they consider still to be their land (depending upon many various points of view ) stolen,controlled,usurped or conquered, by foreign,unwanted entities.The National spirit of unity of these peoples still glows as strong as that of the people behind the `accepted`borders of countries drawn on the map.

In particular,this long list includes,to name but a few, the more well known cases of The Native American Indian, Maori of New Zealand,Aborigine of Australia and the Palestinian people. All have voiced a claim (depending upon many various points of view ) to `justice` from histories often cruel events and still struggle to have a `voice` strong enough to influence their future.

In the search for this future `Justice` and to be heard, it would be well for any and all `victims` to reflect on the Historical Path of Wales and the `Welsh` people through many centuries of Invasion,War,Occupation,genocide,Resistance and Peace with it`s neighbour,England,thus taking us through to the`United` Kingdom that is in existence today.

It is not by any means as yet a perfect match and there are of course still many `nationalists` that would have Wales a separate country from the `Unity` of England, Scotland,Northern Ireland and Wales and who still work peacefully toward that aim,particularly the Plaid Cymru political party.But the Welsh people have learned through the centuries that to be an Architect of the future not a victim of History you must put away physical resistance with the sword and engage in peaceful debate,even against those that vehemently and stubbornly at first refuse to listen.Its a long and uneasy process,but peace,prosperity and National identity can be achieved.

The building blocks to the future are the weapons of Demonstration,debate,democracy,co-operation but to still retain the National spirit. It is also well to remember that all Empires forged by conflict and repression eventually fall through democratic co-operation. Mighty Rome, Napoleons Empire,Hitler's New Order and that the British Empire and communism have also `fallen` to the weapons of peace and are now a `Commonwealth` of various countries forging a future in the name of Equality.Fraternity and Liberty.

Today,as the clock still ticks forward,Wales occupies the broad peninsular of western Britain with a population of nearly three million people and filled with the finest voices of song.Wales retains its own,very ancient language (which is now taught as a dual language with English in schools).It has a new parliament (The Welsh Assembly.Based in the beautiful Welsh Capital City of Cardiff) and the modern Principality is blessed with some of the greenest,lush rolling valleys on earth,due to the frequent rainfall.But it has much more for any would be visitors.A country that is steeped in history,with a castle around every corner and Roman remains in abundance,all which lie in Testament to the stubborn will of various Welsh generations to be a free nation..
Wales though,is an enigma.Since the tribes led by the Ordovices were defeated by the Roman legions in 77ad,the people of Wales have seldom been free of foreign occupation and had few Welsh Kings that have lasted for long periods.But even today,the Welsh still remain fiercely proud of their homeland and own unique flag,paying homage to their nation with fervour in the only real chance they get in this modern age,when the national team play rugby.Yet the Prince of Wales is English and the national anthems of both England and Wales are sung just as proudly.Wales is a classic example of how a United Kingdom/Nation can work in practice,yet how each individual country can still retain a large degree of self determination.
The only way forward in future time for any human peoples,is to put their violent past behind them,respect their differences of culture and work out how the lines on a map will best help the human race live in Peace Time and not be perpetually trapped in War Time.
